Collaboration with Lena Johnson for Global Music Match
What a treat to add some sounds to this wonderful melody from Lena Jonsson – gently avoiding midges up in Scotland and surrounded by beautiful Lochs, it made for the perfect tune to play at that moment
Created in a world first collaboration between founding partners Sounds Australia, Showcase Scotland Expo and East Coast Music Association (ECMA), along with export organisations and showcase events from around the world, Global Music Match is a returning initiative created to continue raising the profile of local artists in international music markets within the challenging parameters of the COVID 19 pandemic.
The program is a unique response to the limitations imposed on the music industry, that makes use of the only available platform – social media and peer-to-peer collaboration – to increase networks and exposure for export-ready artists internationally.
It’s quite extraordinary how the global pandemic has enabled collaborations between artists that previously were unknown to each other. With a love of world music and cross cultural collaborations going back many years, it was no surprise to see Eliza selected to represent England along with Chris Cleverley, Dan Whitehouse, Lucy Farrell and Jack Rutter.
‘In God Above’ written by Andrea Kirwin. A collaboration with some of the Global Music Match musicians including the Lena Jonnson Trio from Sweden, Eliza Marshall and Stephen Fearing.
